5 Unique Halloween-Themed Events Perfect for Oglethorpe Students

Interested in celebrating the Spooky Season all month long? Curious about unique events happening in the Brookhaven area? Here are 5 Halloween-themed events that are affordable, COVID-safe options for the students of Oglethorpe University to attend.
1. Something Wicked This Way Comes VII HALLOWEEN ART SHOW!
Kick off this October by attending a local, Halloween-themed, multimedia art show! Opening nights are Oct.1 and Oct. 2 at 9:00 p.m. This event will take place throughout the entire month of October, so do not stress if you cannot make it opening night! While you must be at least 21 to attend this event, admission is completely free. Bring some of your friends and support local Atlanta artists. Dark and mysterious art creations await you!
2. Candlelight Halloween: A Haunted Evening of Classical Composition
Want to enjoy some spooky, high-class ambience this Halloween? A candlelit, musical performance of Halloween classics might be the perfect solution. Located at The West Venue and performed by the Listeso String Quartet, this 65-minute show will be an experience unlike any other. Choose to attend a 7:00 p.m. or 9:00 p.m. session on either Oct. 6, Oct. 13, or Oct. 27. This safe, socially distanced event is available to anyone over the age of 10. Tickets for this event start at $30 and are selling out quickly, so do not wait!
3. Pumpkin Patch at Oakland Cemetery
If you are looking for something more lowkey to do this Halloween, visit the Oakland Cemetery pumpkin patch! This family friendly, low contact event is free to attend. Many pumpkins will be available for purchase and the museum store will have a pop-up shop open. Stop by Oct. 9 and Oct. 10 from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. and support the Historic Oakland Foundation!
4. The 4th Annual Halloween Bar Crawl - Atlanta
Ready to bar-hop around Atlanta? This event makes the planning easy! Follow the “Crawl Map” on Oct, 30 and get special offers on drinks. Tickets range from $12.50 to $15 and include two free drinks or shots. Get professional photos taken with your friends and enter into the “Craw with Us” Costume Contest for a chance to win $1000. The “Crawl Map” event is from 4:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. and the after party for the event is from 10:00 p.m. to 12:00 a.m. Although this event is only four miles away from campus, make sure to get an Uber or Lift and drink responsibly!
5. Jack-o’-lanterns After Dark (Cocktails & Carving)
Last but certainly not least is a pumpkin carving event! If you are 21 or older, you will have access to cocktails and other fruity drinks with the price of admission, but you do not have to be 21 to enter the event! Other beverages and finger foods will also be provided throughout the night, along with any pumpkin carving tools you may need. Tickets are $30 and the event is Oct. 30 from 6:30 p.m. 8:30 p.m. and 9:00 p.m. 11:00 p.m. Dress up for a chance to win the best costume contest and receive a prize!
