AST Holds Event Supporting Dress for Success

Alpha Sigma Tau Sorority at Oglethorpe University had their philanthropy event on Thursday, April 11th from 7 p.m. to 9 pm. It was held on campus at the residential quad which is in-between the Bowden Magbee and Schmidt dorms. Students and other attendees had the option of ordering food off a menu that consisted of a cheeseburger, quesadilla, or hot dog with your choice of chips, mac and cheese or a fruit cup with drinks provided. Tables and chairs were set up under the basketball goal for food and seating.
As soon as you near the area, you can hear the murmur of voices over the music that echoed off the buildings. The smell of food filled the air as you got closer and then you could make out people’s faces, recognizing friends that you know. Teams of two toss Bing bags back and forth as they play corn hole, and then you hear the loud crash of wooden blocks hitting the sidewalk as someone loses a game of Jenga. Sign in is to the right, so you get in line to pick up your food order before throwing a dollar into the donation basket. You go to sit in one of the chairs to eat your food and laugh along with other familiar faces.
