Best Places in Atlanta to Study Off-Campus

Looking to break away from the Ogle-bubble for a few hours to get some work done? No worries, we have you covered!

1. Java Cat Cafe

Yes, Atlanta finally has a cat cafe. Aren’t we so hip and cool? Anyways, if you are a lover of animals (specifically cats) and also like coffee houses to study at, then Java is the purrfect place for you. (Sorry, that was truly a horrible pun.) You can reserve an hour for $10 a person, which includes a free drip coffee or tea. Bring a book, pet some cats, and donate to a good cause all at the same time. https://www.javacatscafe.com/home

2. Emory University

Did you know that guests are welcome all hours at the Emory University library? The building, which contains three floors of study rooms and an open floor for those who like to study in public, is open 24 hours. Sometimes, you just need a change in scenery to find the inspiration you need to tackle that Core essay.

3. Starbucks off Peachtree Rd NE

Spring is (kinda) finally here, which means it’s the perfect time to study outside. The Starbucks up the road by Kroger has a beautiful patio out front with ample spaces to sit and soak in both sunlight and knowledge. Plus, if you bring a reusable cup, you get a discount on your drink.

4. Sugar Shack

Just up the road from Oglethorpe is a coffee and bakery cafe called Sugar Shack. It’s style is quaint and old-fashioned, with various places both in and outside to study. It’s biggest appeals though are it’s close proximity to campus and it’s late hours. Take a quick walk in the direction of the MARTA station, and you can study and work there until 9pm.

5. Octane Coffee

This popular coffee shop has several locations around the Atlanta area, many of which, such as the Uptown and Westside spots, are open until 11pm on weekdays. The offer locally sourced coffee brewed in high quality, and have a hipster, earth conscious vibe to them. There is also a location at the Woodruff Arts Center, so for those Ogle’s who do not have a car on campus, it is only a block away from the Arts Center MARTA stop.

Good luck studying and happy pre-finals week!
