The semester is dwindling to its end but that doesn’t mean there is not a lot of on campus events still left to attend when you are trying to take a break from your studies. We have a round up for this week.
SGA Appreciation Week
To show the appreciation Petrels have for our faculty and staff members, SGA is placing whiteboards with sticky notes around the TLCC for students to write appreciative notes. Each day will be themed to appreciate the following groups at Oglethorpe.
Wednesday- Campus Safety
Thursday- Campus and Residence Life
Offered Monday at 7:15 p.m. and Tuesday at 6:30 p.m. in the Schmidt Center Dance Studio by Oglethorpe student Ronald Dill. The yoga classes are free and can help you de-stress and get a good work out because taking care of your health should be priority.
Oglethorpe stickers and water bottles will be given out by SGA representatives on Wednesday from 11:15 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. in the tabling area of the dining room. The amount of supplies will be limited to make sure to be there early.
Pizza and Postcards
If you like Mellow Mushroom pizza you might like to go to the small study room in the TLCC from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As you are there you can write a welcome card to a future petrel and grab a slice of pizza.
Nasty Women Poets
Readings of the “Nasty Women Poets: An Unapologetic Anthology of Subversive Verse” by Julie E. Bloemeke and Karen Head will be held in the OUMA at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The event promises to be thought provoking and is free for OU students, faculty and staff.
Game Room Thursday
Take a break from studying and enjoy having some fun with your friends. Take part in game room activities from 9:00 to 10:00 p.m. hosted by SEL.
Add an additional skill under your belt by going to the CPR training hosted by SGA taught by an official American Heart Association endorsed trainer. The event will take place Friday from 1:00 to 5:00 p.m. in the Earl Dolive Theater located in the second floor of the library. In order to attend you must RSVP through SGA’s OUConnect page.
Escape Room Outing
The Transfer Students Association is taking students, regardless if they are transfers, to Time to Escape: The Escape the Room Experience! from 3:30 to 6:45 p.m. on Friday absolutely free of costs. However, there are limited sports available and to go you must RSVP to firstname.lastname@example.org
