Saving While Shopping
Writer Lane Sticher lets us know how to shop smart:
It’s no secret that most of us here at Oglethorpe don’t have too much money to spend, that’s why all of us should know how to save money wherever we shop. Today I am going to tell you how to save money at Target, yes it can be done.
One of my favorite stores to shop at is Target, but on a budget, it can be pretty difficult, that’s why I’ve learned to best ways to save money when I shop there.
The first, and best way to save money at Target is to shop the endcaps. The endcaps are on the end of each isle, most of them have normal items, but almost every store has at least five clearance endcaps. The discounts range from 20% off all the way up to 90% off. The higher the percentage off, the less likely it will be there when you go back, so if you think that you might want it, you better grab it then.
The second way to save money at Target is to download and use the Target app, where you can scan every item that you want to purchase, and most of the time there will be a coupon that will take some money off of what you are buying. The household/grocery items that usually have a coupon on the app are the Target “brand” items, the main “brand” is Archer Farms.
The final way is to go online and see if a competing retailer (including Amazon) has the same item for a lower price. Most people do not know this, but Target price matches on all of their items in the store. Sometimes you can save close to 50% on an item, just because another store has it on sale at that time.
